Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Where is the cabin located?
A: Our cabin is located about 6 miles east of Franklin, NC towards Highlands.  We're just 5 minutes from the Cullasaja Gorge, where you'll find the waterfall featured above (Cullasaja Falls).  View a map of our location.

Q: What about keys, check-in and check-out?
A: The keys are located in a combination lock box by the upstairs door.  Check-in time is 3:00 PM, and check-out time is 10:00 AM.

Q:  Is the house easy to get to?
A:  Yes.  The house is located only 1.5 miles off of US 64 in a small, friendly neighborhood with a mix of full time and vacation residents.

Q: Is there a view of the mountains?
A: No.  The cabin is on a mountain side, but tucked into the lush Smoky Mountain forest.  Between the forest and large, one acre lot, there is real privacy.

Q: What is provided and what do we need to bring?
A:  Linens, including towels, are provided.    We have extra pillows and blankets as well.  The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and tableware (service for 12+) to minimize the need to clean dishes between each meal.  There is a starter supply of paper towels, toilet paper and garbage bags.

Q: Do you allow pets?
A: Yes.  To many people, including us, pets are just part of the family.  We generally limit the number of pets at two, and there is an extra charge.  In the warm months, you will want to protect them with a flee & tick treatment (like Frontline, etc.).  Also, if they get into the stream, please clean them up before allowing them back into the house!

Q: What is there to do in and around Franklin?
A: The most popular attraction around Franklin is gem mining.  There are many gem mining companies that specialize in giving you the true experience of panning for gold and gems.  Sightseeing is also wonderful.  Along US 64 (Highlands Rd) there are 4 natural waterfalls to visit including; Cullasaja falls, "Bust your butt" falls, Dry falls (because you can walk behind it) and Bridal Veil falls.  Below are some links to local area information and attractions.
